Buying and selling a car the hard way, a case study
Wednesday, April 12
Wednesday was spent checking inventory, prices, and learning the differences between the 2016.5 CX-5 with Touring Package and the 2017CX-5 with Touring and Premium Package.
The first thing I learned was that the $21.6 quoted by Fremont Al was for the 2016.5 CX-5 with the base Touring package. The sun-roof and Bose package adds $1200 to the price.
Even with this $1200 add-on, the discount was still $5000 over the 2017 model.
Deep Crystal-Blue turned out to be a tough color to find. Omninously, while I was calling to inquire about that Deep Crystal Blue color, multiple sales reps warned me that color only came with a white interior. We were to discover this would be an issue.
Busy with work and other things, Wednesday ended uneventfully. Inventory on the 2016’s was limited in the Deep Crystal Blue, so the purchase would have to wait till Thursday. I would need to widen the net to find inventory and the best deal.
Checking my email, no word from Meriwest yet. Not too worry. My credit score was unmarred. As a previous Meriwest car loan customer, surely they would want to underwrite this new loan.
